As of right now I, along with my group members, would like to do the strategic planning assignment on Option 1: Social Business Case Study. We would like to specifically focus on the energy efficient, socially responsible clothing and outdoor equipment company, Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC). Our project will include a clear and concise vision and mission statement, while creating a thorough SWOT analysis. This SWOT analysis will explore MEC’s internal strengths and weakness, while also considering the exciting, external opportunities and threats of their environment. We also may consider using a SWOT matrix determining how MEC's internal strengths and weaknesses will positively/negatively affect the potential opportunities and threats in the competitive environment.
